Grayscale images tend to be more emotionally based. Without pretty colors to distract you, the observers focuses on the light and shadow, subject, message, and concept.
I love black and white imaging, at least when it is done right, LOL.

I get discouraged sometimes here, because i see so much work with excessive blowout and burnout, with little attention to tonal quality.
This photo is refreshing for its high Tonal Quality and gradients. Tonal quality is defined by how many different tones are used across the entire available tonal range (from black to white), and by how smooth the tonal gradients are.
The Dynamic Range is very good, with fine detail and texture. I love the composition, with the use of nature's geometric forms.
